American-Palestinian Youth Released Following Nine Months in Israeli Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian adolescent after completing nine months in imprisonment by Israel without charge has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
United States authorities applauded Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Right now, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he needs following exposure to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions for months."
US officials stated they would maintain to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the White House, demanding more be done to secure his release.
The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.
He stayed absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.
The facility also contains mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and murder.
An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody detained within Israeli facilities, per correctional service statistics.
Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, say some have suffered abuse and torture.
