Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
