Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
