Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
